Event and Volunteer Coordinator

**Events/ Volunteer Coordinator (Casual - seasonal)**

**The Good Box**is an Australian charity and social enterprise dedicated to helping people experiencing homelessness receive vital resources with dignity. We are on a mission to abolish misconceptions surrounding homelessness to prevent isolation and increase communication.

**Job Responsibilities include but not limited to**:

- Event planning. Liaising with event attendees and logistics.
- This can include:

- Running the volunteer packs
- Inclusive of safety management
- Stocktake
- Ensuring all boxes/jobs are packed correctly
- Miscellaneous marketing assistance (social media content, newsletters)
- Supporting other operational activities. Examples include: volunteer shift planning, admin, all round support.
- Keeping up to date with safety processes/ box distribution data.
- Will report directly to Co-founder located in Brisbane and in-person Co-founder in Melbourne

**Work Hours and Location**:

- Mondays and Thursdays - 9am to 4pm (the exact working hours are flexible within the 9-4 timing, and will be discussed prior).
- Must be available to work from 12pm
- 4pm Thursdays due to the volunteer shifts running from 1pm-3pm on Thursdays. This is to allow prep and pack-up time.
- Seasonal Casual: Start date 17th July
- 6th October. The 17th July - 4th of August will be paid training for 5 hours per week. 4th August onwards it will be 5-10 hours a week.
- Rate: $31/ hour
- Location - Ormond, VIC

**Qualifications / Skills**:

- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Events, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of event principles and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with other softwares (e.g., Monday, Google Drive) is a plus.
- Strong organisational skills, time management and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be authorised to work in Australia
