We are currently seeking 2 x Tool Quality Assurance Technicians to join our Quality Team. The Tool QA Technician will be responsible for undertaking quality assurance activities in support of tooling used for the manufacture of aircraft components and assemblies.
**About the role**
Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Inspection and certification of tooling using both industry standard and specialised inspection techniques
- Prepare tooling inspection data in CATIA
- Conduct tooling inspection activities using CMS (Coordinate Measuring Systems) e.g Laser Tracker, Portable Arm, CMM measuring equipment
- Development and preparation of tooling inspection reports
- Analysis of relevant technical documentation including drawings, Spatial Analyzer and/or other software, CAD models, and specification data to identify inspection and certification requirements
- Investigation and timely resolution of tooling quality assurance issues / problems encountered during production / tooling refurbishment
- Identification and reporting of tooling non-compliance issues
- Maintaining tool inspection configuration control through the effective use of the BAA TRACS system
- Provision of timely technical advice to production on matters associated with the quality assurance of tooling
- Ensuring the delivery of all work assignments are completed in an effective and efficient manner
- Perform TNCR (Tool Non Conformity Reports) driven rework inspection
- Perform / coordinate TIPR (Tool Inspection Plan Report) and periodical inspection and raise TNCRs as required
**About you**
- Hands-on experience in tooling/ tool engineering or tooling repair environment
- Demonstrated experience in reading, interpreting and understanding technical drawings, CAD models, specifications and other associated technical documentation
- Sound knowledge of tooling quality assurance processes and procedures
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Attention to detail and good problem solving / analytical skills
- Works well with others and encourages team building
- Assertive, self-motivated and capable of working with a high degree of initiative
- Able to work in shiftwork as per business requirements
