**About the Opportunity**

We are seeking a trade-qualified **Mechanical Fitter**to join the Tamar team.

Reporting and providing support to the Maintenance Manager, your primary responsibilities will be to carry out all breakdowns and preventative maintenance activities across a continuous production process and all other maintenance related operational duties required including the servicing and repair of the processing, packaging, cooling and heating systems on site across the entire manufacturing process. This role is a **permanent,**position and will include **shift work.**

Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Carrying out Preventative Maintenance programs for the processing, packaging, cooling & heating systems to ensure efficient services to site;
- Responding to breakdowns in a timely manner to minimise downtime.
- Performing scheduled and ad-hoc safety checks as per instructions;
- Investigating failures and making recommendations to reduce risk and improve systems/processes;
- General maintenance within a factory environment, filling machines, packaging equipment, boilers and refrigeration systems; and
- Participating in continuous improvement activities.

To be considered for this position, you will require:

- A relevant trade qualification as a mechanical fitter;
- Experience in an FMCG packaging environment preferred;
- Continuous improvement mindset;
- Strong troubleshooting skills;
