Stonemason

We specialise in marble and granite fabrication and installation in NSW with 25 years experience in the stone industry. We are currently seeking an experienced and well-rounded stonemason & installer to join our team.

This hands-on position is suitable for an energetic, positive and enthusiastic person looking for a challenging and rewarding position in the stone industry. You must possess a “can do attitude” and the ability to work in a team environment.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for:

- Studying plans and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures;
- Designing and measuring marble and granite materials according to the requirements of the projects;
- Cutting, shaping and polishing marble and granite materials and slabs to finished condition using machines and hand tools, and shaping stones to fit irregular spaces;
- Positioning marble and granite materials on machines to be cut or worked;
- Setting grinding or cutting edges in position and activating machines;
- Operating marble and granite preparation, shaping and finishing machines and hand tools;
- Checking progress of machining and adjusting equipment;
- Moving marble and granite materials from machine for further processing;
- Erecting and dismantling restricted height scaffolding if required;
- Installing marble and granite products to property developers, builders and individual home owners for the construction and renovation of residential properties or commercial buildings;
- Constructing walls, fixing facades and laying paving on-site using pre-cut and polished marble and granite materials and blocks;
- Installing pre-cut and polished marble and granite materials on-site for the construction of kitchen bench top, bar top, vanity top, dining and coffer tables, fire place, shop front, reception area, custom furniture and stair cases;
- Designing and cutting monumental masonry and lettering;
- Consulting with property developers, builders and individual home owners for modification of installed projects.

To be considered for this role you need to be able to demonstrate the following:

- At least 2 years work experience as a stonemason performing the above job duties and functions in a similar environment;
- Experience in marble and granite cutting, polishing, laminating and installing;
- Ability to read plans, specifications and templates.

**Salary**: $57,000.00 per year
