Our client, a family-owned vertically integrated beef business, has an exciting and growing agri-food portfolio on Australia’s beautiful west coast. The team is currently looking for a Feedlot Manager to run the day-to-day operations of the feedlot, including animal welfare, environmental care, and team safety and wellbeing.

Reporting to the General Manager - Feeding Facilities (Agribusiness), the Feedlot Manager will be responsible for:

- Leading and empowering a team of feedlot operators through coaching, training, and development.
- Overseeing the daily feedlot activities and resources required to maintain efficient and effective operations.
- Coordinating weekly communication and knowledge sharing across the feedlot through effective meeting methods.
- Maintaining operational activities across the Livestock, Milling, Maintenance, and Administration departments to ensure optimal and effective daily outcomes are achieved.
- Monitoring all measured daily key performance areas (data capture) to ensure timely and effective decision making regarding improved performance objectives.
- Ensuring planned backgrounding operations, with cattle and farming.
- Building and developing trusting and supportive relationships across the business, including internal and external suppliers, contractors, and customers.
- Ensuring a safe work environment for all employees and contractors by maintaining a robust safety system.
- Reporting key target information, including budgeting, CAPEX, and performance, to the GM.

Ideally, you will have:

- Developed leadership skills, with ambitions to grow.
- The ability to plan, prioritise, and manage time in accordance with daily activities.
- Sound decision-making skills, with attention to detail.
- Problem-solving ability, with a good understanding of technology.
- The ability to be flexible and adapt to change.
- Experience in an operational feedlot or livestock enterprise, ideally required.
