Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to provide assistance and support to individuals with mental health challenges. As a vital member of our team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the overall well-being and independence of our clients. **Responsibilities**:
1. Client Support:

- Provide one-on-one support to clients with mental health conditions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of personalized care plans.
- Foster a trusting and respectful relationship with clients to promote their mental and emotional well-being.

2. Daily Living Assistance:

- Aid clients in performing daily activities, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores.
- Offer guidance and encouragement to promote independence and self-care.

3. Emotional Support:

- Provide empathetic listening and emotional support to clients during challenging moments.
- Encourage the development of coping mechanisms and resilience.

4. Medication Management:

- Ensure clients adhere to prescribed medication regimens.
- Monitor and report any changes in medication effectiveness or side effects.

5. Community Integration:

- Facilitate community engagement and social activities to promote a sense of belonging.
- Assist clients in participating in community events and activities.

6. Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain accurate and detailed records of client interactions, progress, and challenges.
- Provide regular updates to the supervisor and participate in team meetings.

Qualifications:
1. Education and Certification:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Relevant certification in disability support or mental health care preferred.

2. Experience:

- Proven experience working in a similar role, preferably in mental health support.
- Familiarity with various mental health conditions and their impact on daily living.

3. Skills:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- Knowledge of local mental health resources and support services.

4. Compassion and Empathy:

- A genuine passion for helping individuals with mental health challenges.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding towards clients.

5. Flexibility:

- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Ability to adapt to the evolving needs of clients.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term, Subcontract, Casual, Contract

**Salary**: $34.00 - $100.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 36 per week

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Fixed shift
- Monday to Friday
- Public holidays

Licence/Certification:

- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (preferred)
- National Police Certificate (preferred)
- Driver Licence (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

- Wetherill Park, NSW 2164 (preferred)
