Key responsibilities:

- Manage and coordinate media and communication projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with departmental priorities and media strategies.
- Develop and deliver media strategies in collaboration with senior media team members and provide high-level media liaison and advisory services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the justice portfolio, including the judiciary and statutory bodies, to identify and develop media opportunities.
- Monitor media activities, analyse information, and assist in the preparation and delivery of complex communication materials for various platforms.
- Provide advice to senior leaders on media-related issues, and contribute to policy development in relation to media relations and communications.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Media team by innovating media strategies and enhancing systems and processes within the team.

General responsibilities:

- Actively contribute to the Branch's response during crisis or emergency situations, and whole-of-government crisis response communications.
- As required, participate in an on-call roster, including during critical incidents.
- Positively contribute to the continued development of branch and organisational culture and staff engagement strategies.

Technical skills, abilities, and cultural capability:

- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver complex media strategies, correspondence, and materials, ensuring clarity and impact across diverse audiences.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagements skills and the ability to identify issues and work with senior officers to understand complex information and provide expert media advice.
- Demonstrated project management and problem-solving skills, particularly in a communications context, to ensure the successful delivery of media projects.
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain positive relationships with stakeholders (including media) and clients and to proactively seek to understand clients' and stakeholders' needs and expectations, including providing high level communications advice.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and contribute to the positive culture of a team with a track record of maintaining a customer service mentality and supporting all colleagues to succeed.
