**About the role**:
Our government client is seeking am IT Security Manager to lead the department’s ICT Security Team. The ICT Security Team is responsible for protecting and securing department information assets which includes monitoring and managing threats and vulnerabilities and managing and responding to cyber security incidents.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Provide expert tactical and operational ICT security advice which ensures the confidentiality, integrity, availability, accountability and compliance of all the department information assets
- Critically assess existing IT policies, standards and procedures and develop proposals for the determination of ICT security policies, standards and procedures and oversee and conduct security investigations, risk and vulnerability assessments
- Actively participate in issue resolution and critical incident response across ICT security environments in the department as well as provide critical escalation paths to whole of government response effort
- Provide input and assistance to and monitor new projects, strategic and operational plans for security and associated infrastructure within the department systems and services
- Participate in designing, capacity planning, configuration management, administration, change management, documentation and support of security technologies within the department and partner agencies
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to a team of senior security specialists to monitor, investigate, contain, eradicate, recover, document and report on security events and incidents
- Maintain, update and continually expand knowledge of developments and trends within the network and information security industry and evaluate the applicability to the department systems
- Monitor emerging ICT security trends, identify immediate and long-term opportunities and align solutions with strategic priorities.

**Mandatory criteria**:
The essential requirements for this role are:

- Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and remediate security risks to an acceptable level
- Experience in ICT security architecture design and implementation
- Experience in information technology with a clear understanding of the challenges of network security
- Strong knowledge of cyber security framework and Information Security Management System (ISMS)
- Strong understanding of information security risk and vulnerability management
- As an IT security professional, in-depth knowledge or can quickly acquire knowledge of the following technologies:

- Firewall / IPS configuration and management
- Public Key Infrastructure management
- Configuration and management of Application Delivery Controllers
- Anti-Virus configuration and management
- Management of VPN and Remote Access Systems
- Experience in performing ICT security and risk assessments of major projects in view of designing secure architectures
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage outcomes within the team and with inter-departmental teams
- Communication skills to ensure effective coordination within the team and across other stakeholders.
