Payroll Officer

**The Organisation**

Our client is home to some of Australia's most iconic brands with offices across Australia and New Zealand. There is currently a great opportunity available for a Payroll Officer to join the team, look after one of the major retail brands within the group. The key purpose of the role is to deliver an effective and timely payroll service for retail store employees in accordance with legislative requirements and company policy as well as support with key projects.

**Responsibilities**
- Accurate and timely processing of a weekly payroll for approximately 1300 employees in accordance with the terms and conditions of the relevant award and all legislative requirements
- Processing of new starter and position change paperwork
- Calculation of termination payments
- Provide assistance and resolution to our retail teams with their payroll queries in a timely, friendly, and accurate manner
- Preparation and lodgement of PAYG, Payroll Tax and Superannuation
- Ensuring that all payroll components are costed to the relevant general ledger accounts and reconciled
- Demonstrated experience using Ceridian Preceda in a high volume payroll processing environment
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Previous experience with the General Retail Industry Award will be highly regarded
- Previous experience using a time and attendance system is essential
