**About this Position**:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Grader Operator to join our Roads department. The primary function of the Grader Operator is to operate the grader with precision and expertise in road construction and maintenance, ensuring safe and efficient operations throughout the Roads department. This role is critical in building and maintaining the infrastructure that connects communities.

**What we trust you to deliver**:

- Operate the grader with provision and expertise to deliver high-quality outcomes in road construction and maintenance
- Support the Field Supervisor with site setup, planning, and team collaboration, stepping up when required
- Independently lead small teams to complete tasks safely, on time, and to a high standard
- Resolve operational challenges on-site, adapting to varying conditions and maintaining project quality
- Operate a range of heavy plant and vehicles, including rollers, loaders, backhoes, and truck combinations
- Follow Work Health and Safety requirements, ensuring a safe workplace for all
- Communicate effectively with team members and the public while maintaining professional customer interactions

**What you will need to be successful**:

- Cert IV Civil Construction or equivalent and/or relevant experience
- Current Class Light Rigid (LR) Licence, White Card, Conduct Grader Operations
- 5 years experience operating a grader
- Proven experience in road maintenance and construction activities including final trim grader experience and site supervision
- Have the ability to prioritise and schedule work and meet deadlines
- Have the capability to lead a team
- Have personal integrity and take responsibility
- A passion for Lismore and personal values that align with our mission

**Full Time**:76 hours per fortnight

**Salary**: Attractive wages and conditions, including a 76-hour fortnight with an RDO, plus on-call and overtime opportunities

**Conditions of Employment**:**Conditions of employment are in the Local Government (State) Award and relevant Council policy, procedures and agreements.
