As an Employment Support Officer with JobsRUs you will be assisting participants of the NDIS to achieve their short and long term employment goals. This role is a hands-on capacity building role that ensures the participant can have a holistic approach to bettering their life and ultimately work towards their employment goal. Employment has many aspects to it, including sustaining housing, communication skills, social skills, soft and hard skills. In this role, you will work with the participants to work on all of these skills to get them one step closer towards their employment goal.

This is a unique role with the NDIS that takes an approach of working across all stages of the participants life and building those essential life skills.

Traineeships for individuals interested in a career in community services is available.

**JOB TITLE**:Employment Support Officer

**JOB TYPE**:Casual, Part-Time or Full-Time positions available

20 - 40hours per week

Monday
- Friday (some Weekend and Public Holiday shifts are available)

**LOCATION**:Head office: Bankstown

**_As a mobile practice supports may be delivered across surrounding LGA’s in addition to our head office._**

**SUPERVISOR/MANAGER**:Managing Director & Head of Employment

**MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assist participants learning essential life skills
- Utilising a goal plan created by Employment Specialists to work on for your participants
- Assist participants in making informed decisions that will assist them in sustaining current supports
- Encouraging participants to grow as individuals and achieve their desired goals
- Work with participants to identify goals and set action plans in achieving them
- Assistance in budgeting and other money handling skills
- Exploring legal responsibilities related to employment and other day to day services the participant has access to
- Support in transport skills, including learning the skills of public transport and other licenses
- Goal specific employment support including, job searching, interview skills, cover letter writing, resume writing and work trials
- Liaising with Disability Employment Support (DES) providers together to work towards employment-based goals
- Safely transport participants to appropriate and relevant areas such as employment, essential appointments, experience hubs etc

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**

**Qualifications**:

- Ciii or above in relevant industry such as Community Services & Individual support or relevant experience in similar role
- Proven ability to build individuals capacity to learn new skills
- WWCC & NDISWC including a police check or willing to obtain
- Driver’s license

**Experience**:

- Intermediate to advanced computer skills
- Above and beyond patience and understanding
- Professional conflict and communication
- A thorough understanding of disability supports
- CALD experience is highly desired as well as Arabic speaking

**PERFORMANCE GOALS**:
Performance goals will vary based on participants being seen. The main goals include:

- Maintain a 90% billable to working hours ration
- Input system notes within 48 hours
- Input appointments within 24 hours
- Contacting participants before appointments to confirm supports
- Working at a suitable pace with the participant to achieve their desired goals
- Take own personal development to continue to further career

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Part-time hours: 20-40 per week

**Salary**: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
