About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Casual **Mental Health Support Worker** to provide direct support to individuals living with mental health challenges in **Yarra Junction**. The role focuses on promoting independence, community participation, and self-directed recovery, while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of participants.

In addition to regular support work, this role includes a **fortnightly Sunday shift**: transporting a client from their home in Yarra Junction to Hampton Park. There will also be an ongoing **weekly shift** to support the client’s needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support to participants in line with their recovery goals.
- Assist with daily living tasks, community access, and social inclusion activities.
- Support individuals to build coping skills, resilience, and confidence.
- Transport clients safely, including the fortnightly Sunday shift (Yarra Junction ➝ Hampton Park and back home).
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes in line with organisational policies.
- Ensure safe work practices and uphold duty of care at all times.
- Collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to provide consistent support.

Mandatory NDIS Compliance Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (current and valid).
- Working With Children Check (WWCC).
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module - _Quality, Safety and You_ (completed certificate).
- Adherence to the NDIS Code of Conduct.
- Infection Control Training - COVID-19.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Police Check (within the last 12 months).
- Uphold privacy, confidentiality, and reporting obligations under the NDIS Practice Standards.

**Requirements**:

- Certificate III/IV in Mental Health, Community Services, or related field (or working towards).
- Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions.
- Strong communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle (essential for client transport).

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $42.00 - $80.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:
