CSIRO has a fantastic opportunity for a relationship driven finance professional to join a high performing team as the function embarks on a transformational journey of new ways of working. As the Finance Business Partner, you will partner with Directors and their teams across CSIROs Enterprise Support Services (ESS).

The Finance Business Partner will drive the month end reporting requirements including organising monthly and quarterly meetings, setting the agenda topics for consideration, and ensuring that the management accounting analysis is communicated clearly, accurately, and effectively, and displayed in a format appropriate to the audience. The finance business partner will also input strategic and analytical advice across CSIRO and assist management with the delivery of their CSIRO business objectives.

**Your duties will include**:

- Oversight and preparation of internal financial reports that are provided to the CSIRO ESS Directors and other senior leadership, working closely with the assistant finance business partner to reflect insight on performance against operating and capital budgets, and to provide value-add commentary.
- Plan, manage and deliver the organisational forecasting, modelling and analysis for ESS business units including working with internal stakeholders in its development and delivery and communicating actions and risks to key stakeholders as well as development of new models where appropriate.
- Provision of financial advice and analysis on accounting policy and processes, analysis of new investments, proposals and business cases, analysis of major project feasibility and preparation of required documentation.
- Assist the Finance Manager - Financial Performance and Reporting - in the management of opportunities and challenges within ESS business units, including development of scenarios and financial planning to respond to organisational priorities and strategies and support for investment decision making.
- Contribute to the design, delivery and implementation of new processes and systems for management accounting in CSIRO, including responsibility for projects as required.
- Accurately undertake, supervise, and complete work in a timely manner while adding value in line with the expectations of a high level of service delivery and financial management.
- Achieve team KPIs through effective financial planning, effective operational accounting and through effective service and support to the Group.
- Responsible for contribution to ongoing knowledge transfer across the wider Finance team.

**Salary**:AU$105k - AU$114k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

**To be considered you will need**:

- A tertiary qualification in accounting or finance as well as completion of the CA/CPA Program, or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and/or experience in management accounting, reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and project accounting.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, analyse and manage financial risk, provide mitigation strategies, and develop appropriate responses that can be delivered successfully.
- Demonstrated ability in developing and communicating financial management advice with a proven ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, therefore achieving a high level of trust and respect, and the ability to influence outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise flexibility, initiative, and agility in the delivery of high-quality outputs under mínimal supervision.
- Able to prioritise and manage stakeholder expectations when conflicting timelines arise.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, and direction for others in the team by coaching and supporting staff and fostering open communication and strong collaboration.
