**Role Description/Criteria**

Parade College is a member of the national body of Catholic schools known as Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA). The College aims to help young men grow into well-rounded individuals who will make a meaningful contribution to society. As a long-standing Catholic school for boys in the Edmund Rice tradition, Parade College strives to be a learning community that offers best practice education and pastoral care to its students to foster fullness of life and holistic growth for all.

Parade College is the oldest Edmund Rice School in Australia, dating back to 1871, and has a proud history of excellence in the education and pastoral care of young men. Parade offers a multitude of curriculum options for boys whatever their interest may be; from academic, sporting, music, visual arts and trade options.

The professional environment for staff at Parade College emphasises innovation, the importance of lifelong learning and quality relationships between staff, students and the College community.

Parade College is committed to the vertical House system as the core structure for student welfare and pastoral care. Each of the four Houses is divided into an Upper School and a Lower School and each half House has nine Tutor Groups. Smaller numbers at the Preston Campus, due to its size, make the appointment of four separate House Leaders untenable. Instead, the position of Student Wellbeing Leader (Preston 7-9) and Student Wellbeing Leader (Preston 10-12) will assist the Director of the Preston Campus fulfil the functions of an Upper and/or Lower House Leader at the Bundoora Campus, across all four Houses.

The Student Wellbeing Leaders, along with the Director, Preston Campus and the Tutor Teachers have the have the responsibility for supporting students’ overall wellbeing, social emotional development and in meeting College expectations. Thus, the position of Student Wellbeing Leader is a significant leadership position at Parade College.

The College is committed to the process of Restorative Practices in interactions with students and staff, and the Student Wellbeing Leader has a central part to play in its implementation and development.
