Our client is a very successful and progressive international freight forwarder based in Tullamarine. With consistent growth, an exceptionally experienced management team and the latest industry software, they maintain an enviable position within this fast paced and exciting industry.
An opportunity has arisen within their Melbourne office for a suitably experienced Accounts Officer / Book keeper. Working closely with a very experienced and supportive Finance Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
Overseeing the Accounts Payable process to ensure local and overseas creditors are paid correctly and on time
Assessing and analyzing daily cash flow
Reconciling balance sheets/General Ledger
Maintaining daily banking reconciliations
Preparing and submitting BAS / Payroll tax and PAYG
Preparing payroll journal entries
Preparing End of Month reporting for Finance Manager
Preparing various reports to support the function of business
Overseeing the workflow of a colleague based offsite
Year end preparation
General office duties
To be considered for this position applicants must meet the following criteria:
Relevant accounts/bookkeeping certificate
Experience gained within the International Forwarding Industry an advantage.
Working knowledge of expedient operating system ideal but not essential
The ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
Excellent attention to detail
A team focused attitude
