Are you an experienced Psychosocial Recovery Coach and Support Coordinator looking for a change? Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of people living with a disability? Maxima are expanding their NDIS services and have a new opportunity in our Elizabeth office.
Your demonstrated experience as a Psychosocial Recovery Coach will see you use the principles of recovery-oriented practice to support people living with psychosocial disability to live a full and contributing life. combining this with your experience You will achieve this through strong and respectful relationships, and by supporting people to build capacity, resilience, and connection to community, with a strong recognition that people are the experts of their own lives.
Joining the team at an exciting development stage, your ability to work outside the box and be involved in networking events, meetings and 1:1 engagement will help grow a thriving service offering for Australians living with disability.
**Your Responsibilities**
In this role, you will:
- Work collaboratively with customers to assist them to understand and effectively implement their NDIS plan to ensure quality support and maximum value.
- Work collaboratively with customers, families, carer and nominees to design, plan and implement crisis management plans, including the undertaking of risk assessments and provide plans to mitigate risks.
- Use a non-judgemental, focused and person-centred approach with all customers.
- Develop a shared understanding of what “recovery” means for each customer to determine their goals and needs.
- Explain and maintain clear professional boundaries with the customer.
- Working in a holistic approach through supporting customers to collaborate with NDIS, mainstream and informal supports such as family, friends and community groups to provide linkages, referrals and other supports that align with recovery goals Using a strength-based approach, work with customers to increase recovery skills and capacity, within a choice and control framework.
**You Have**
- Demonstrated lived or learned experience working with individuals experiencing a psychosocial disability and providing them with coaching and support to meet their diverse needs
- Ability to work with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders, including people living with a disability, cultural diversity and language other than English, and be able to adjust ways of working to support best-practice inclusion and accessibility
- Working knowledge of the available services and supports available for a person living with a psychosocial disability, including but not limited to health, housing, employment, financial supports, family supports and physical health care services
- Working knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 and relevant state-based legislation
- National Criminal History Record Check (Police Clearance), NDIS Worker Screening Check, and Working with Children Check
- You must hold a valid driver's license and access to a car
- You may be required to undertake work outside of your regular hours on an ad hoc basis and there is the possibility of intrastate and/or overnight travel.
To be considered for this role, you must have a Certificate IV in Mental Health, Community Services or equivalent or Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Support, or demonstrated experience in a mental-health peer support role.
**You might also have**:
- A working knowledge of trauma-informed practice and care is highly desirable
- Sound knowledge and understanding of dual diagnoses, including alcohol and other drugs, ABI, physical and intellectual disability
- Previous experience in the disability services sector, working with NDIS customers
