**Who we’re looking for**:
The objective of the Head of Commercial & Corporate Platform role is to partner with the Commercial and Corporate functions to deliver and support platforms to meet their strategic objectives. Key function of the role will be to align business needs to investment roadmap, successfully deliver the roadmap, and provision stable and reliable platforms.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Partner with Commercial and Corporate functions to understand their strategy, needs and pain points
- Develop an investment and technology roadmap with the Strategy and Architecture team to address business function needs
- Maintain ongoing alignment with business units on priorities as they change, and work with the IT portfolio manager to set prioritises within IT
- Resolve conflicts, contention, and prioritisation issues at GM and Head of level.
- Deliver the roadmap and continuous improvement initiatives on time, on budget and on scope. Project portfolio sizing may vary from $10 to $20m per annum
- Proactively identify and resolve project delivery issues and work with business and IT teams to resolve them. This will be in conjunction with IT project governance team
- Ensure project management disciplines are followed and the right level of delivery capability is deployed in the right project
- Provision stable, reliable, and secure platforms
- Work with Infrastructure and support team to ensure consistent process as followed
- Ensure ongoing problems are identified and resolved or projects are planned to correct underlying issues
- Manage and forecast complex operational budgets with a plan to reduce ongoing costs year on year
- Own all partner relationships and contract adherence, with the support of procurement
- Work collaboratively with IT partners and suppliers to ensure services and service levels are delivered as agreed
- Ensuring that all direct reports also comply with all contract, financial and procurement processes.
- Provide visible leadership to embed Virgin Australia values and enabled workplace
- Build and maintain a capable, engaged and performing team

**You’ll be great in this role if you**:

- 10 years’ work experience preferably within IT primarily focused in digital and customer focused domain
- Project management experience (+$10m) and ability to lead complex programs of work
- Experience developing C-level relationship and resolving conflict and prioritisation challenges
- Proven history of driving people, process and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment
- Forward thinking with a passion for process improvement, software optimization and process standardization
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, as well as business concepts to technologists
- Demonstrated leader with strategic influencing skills, strong decision making, negotiating and conflict resolution skills, effective relationship building skills and strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Clear direction setting capability for the team including clarity on accountability for the delivery
- Uses systematic processes to identify issues and risks early
- Strong commercial acumen and vendor management skills
- Ability to provide strategic leadership to identify and create commercially viable technology roadmaps
- Expertise in identifying customer needs and building delivery plans that add value to the business outcomes
- Sound understanding of the evolving digital world on both the demand side (how people/companies are using technology) and the supply side (emerging technologies)
- Extensive knowledge of commercial, corporate, and automation technologies
- Knowledge of the current and future technology direction of the airline industry and ability to align them to internal shifting strategies
