**About the Opportunity**

The Air Strategist role is an integral position within the Air Contacting area and is key to maximising the airline's financial contribution to Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG). The key responsibility of the role is to drive our airline contracts through involvement in consultant incentives, marketing campaigns, expos and product innovation.

The Strategist role works closely with the Airline Supplier Relationship Manager and Analyst to manage a portfolio of airlines and assist in managing FCTG’s relationship with these airlines. Whilst doing this, the Air Strategists’ main team is the other Air Strategists to ensure together they manage the team work flow, always looking for efficiencies.

The primary responsibility of managing the day-to-day relationships with our airline partners is balanced with assisting in developing and sourcing creative and competitive products for all our Brands as well as the Air Buying air strategy. The Air Strategist team is structured to be aligned to key internal stakeholders from marketing and product amongst all Brands and States.

**In this role you will**:

- Support airline contracts to drive and maximise earning opportunities for FCTG in Australia.
- Undertake marketing campaigns, consultant incentives and product delivery to support preferred agreements and channel off airlines where limited return is available.
- Support Supplier Relationship Manager to successfully work with preferred partners and assist frontline selling staff to convert and book with ease

**About you**:

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in air travel and 2 years in airline industry, retail travel and or consolidation
- Thorough understanding of airfares and sound knowledge of Sabre/Galileo and Excel
- Leadership experience (desirable)
- Product management experience (desirable)
