- To be eligible for employment with the Department of Health and Aged Care

**Division Responsibilities**

Service Delivery Division is responsible for providing older Australians with quality

information and supporting seamless access to aged care services. We work collaboratively

across the broader Ageing & Aged Care Group and the department to ensure:

- There is stronger integration between the health care and aged care systems so that

older Australians can transition between settings more easily and get the right care

at the right time
- We have a robust governance, intelligence and networking capability to support

policy development, program design and delivery, including programs and policies

that impact the outcomes for older Australians and their families
- The My Aged Care website, contact centre, face-to-face and advocacy workforce are

providing senior Australians with contemporary, easy to understand information and

support about the aged care system and the services that are available to them
- There is appropriate support for the aged care sector to respond to COVID-19 and

other emergency situations. Our presence across the country increasingly allows for

a localised, regional approach to health and aged care system planning, regulation

and management

**Branch Responsibilities**

The NSW/ACT Branch supports the delivery of aged care and health programs in NSW and

ACT. We use our local presence to allow for a regional approach to health and aged care

system regulation and management. Our responsibilities include:

- Supporting Health and aged care programs in NSW/ACT through local intelligence,

information sharing, facilitating solutions and contributing to policy development

and program design
- Supporting the delivery of the range of aged care programs in NSW and ACT through

legislative processes and engagement with aged care providers under the Aged Care

Act 1997.
- Supporting the Australian Government’s response to the Royal Commission into

Aged Care Quality and Safety and successful implementation of the Aged Care

Transformation Program - in particular through establishing the regional network

structure.
- Supporting emergency responses in aged care including pandemic, natural disasters

and unplanned closures.

**Section Responsibilities**

**Health Sector Engagement and Governance Section**

The section’s role is to facilitate strategic engagement of the NSW/ACT State Office with

state and territory health sector partners influencing programs, policies and reforms that

improve health outcomes for Australians. We foster relationships with, and connect,

external and internal stakeholders focused on primary care, First Nations health, mental

health, alcohol and other drugs, and aged care.

As part of the Department’s Health Engagement and Representation Network the team

assess data and gather intelligence on achievements, barriers, and issues to understand and

support NSW and ACT system integration and performance, support the Department to

monitor program outputs and bolster regional stewardship, as well as inform national,

jurisdictional or regional policy or program development. Our objective is to contribute to

strategic inter-agency information exchange, planning, coordination, implementation and
