**About the role**
Ralphs Meat Company is seeking a Livestock Drover Animal Welfare Officer to join our dynamic team in Seymour, VIC. This is a casual position that will be responsible for ensuring the safe and ethical transportation of livestock. The role will focus on maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare throughout the transportation process.
**What you'll be doing**
- Safely transport livestock between yards and processing facilities
- Monitor the health and wellbeing of livestock during transportation and processing
- Implement and enforce animal welfare protocols and procedures
- Maintain detailed records of all livestock movements and any incidents
- Identify and report any animal welfare concerns or issues
- Assist with the loading and unloading of livestock as required
**What we're looking for**
- Proven experience as a livestock drover or in a similar animal handling role
- Thorough understanding of animal welfare regulations and best practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work irregular hours and be on call as needed
- A valid driver's licence
