**Position Information**:
Googong Public School is a new government school servicing the Googong community. We are a purpose built future focused learning environment with 33 classrooms, including 3 supported learning classes, catering for over 700 students. Currently, we have 423 enrolments across K-6. We have 30% EAL/D population and 15 students who identify as either Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Googong Public School boasts state of the art technology resources; large landscaped outdoor learning and play spaces; a multipurpose court; multi-function hall; air-conditioned classrooms; special purpose rooms; and a well-resourced library.

Googong Public School is located at the heart of the Googong township and provides students with quality educational programs delivered by highly qualified and dedicated teachers and support staff. With a strong academic focus, students experience unique opportunities that challenge and extend their learning across an extensive curriculum.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary
- Outstanding instructional leadership with a focus on innovative practice to lead conversations that influence quality teaching and learning structures to enhance a culture of high expectations, collaborative practice, and ongoing strategic school improvement.
- Demonstrated effective and approachable leader with strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, with strong emotional intelligence and ability to support connection to community and enhance student voice.
- Exceptional ability to initiate and foster genuine, trusting partnerships across the school to lead, mentor and cultivate leadership capacity in all staff.
- Demonstrated resilience and established leadership skills that support the management and promotion of student inclusion, engagement and connectedness with learning, through highly developed wellbeing practices that inspire participation and school engagement.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
