Salvos Stores is the retail arm of The Salvation Army and operates over 340 retail stores in Australia. Salvos Stores operates as a fully functioning retail business, recycling pre-loved goods and relying heavily on the generosity of the public.
Salvos Stores maintains a professional retail network and dedicated store staff and volunteers, professional Support and State Offices, a great team of retail managers, and a highly effective operations team.
Our Warehouse Volunteer Team play an integral role to ensure all our stores are supported in a timely and professional manner by providing much needed sellable donated goods and other sundry items.
Position is required to:
- Sort through donations, discarding anything that may not be fir for sale
- Effectively disposing of items “unsaleable” and ensuring quality products kept for distribution
- Assist with daily warehouse tasks.
- Assist in sorting; bric-a-brac, electrical and books.
- Housekeeping.
- Follow Workplace Health & Safety Policy and Procedures Hazards.
- Hazards documented appropriately Follow security policy and procedures.
- Prepared to learn new things.
- Prepared to work in a team environment.
- Prepared to make a difference.
- Prepared to have fun.
Important Note - Volunteers must be 15 years of age and older
- The Salvation Army is a child safe organisation and is committed to protecting children and young people from harm. All child related roles will require the successful completion of a Working with Children Check. _Additionally, certain volunteer roles may require a National Police Check._
