The New Acland Coal Mine (NAC), a thin seam open cut mining operation is owned and managed by New Hope Group. Based in Acland, a short drive north-west of Toowoomba NAC has played a key role in the Darling Downs region as an employer and economic contributor since it began operation in October 2002.

We are excited to offer a great career opportunity to a Business Trainee to join our team on a **12-month max term contract.** This full time, entry-level position is suitable for school leavers or individuals looking to transition into the business field within the mining sector.

**What you will be doing**:
As the Business Trainee you will provide administration support to the New Acland management team and the associated departments. This role provides a central point of contact for general administration queries and support across the New Acland site.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide reception and administration support, including ensuring all contractors and visitors are properly inducted to site.
- Undertake data entry requirements for New Acland in an efficient and effective manner to ensure data integrity and timeliness of input.
- Maintain internal filing systems and electronic databases daily to ensure accuracy.
- Provide support to multiple departments by scanning documents and uploading them to the appropriate system.
- Assist with the ordering and distribution of employee uniforms.
- Responsible for ensuring supplies are up to date, including kitchen, stationery, and groceries, and general office housekeeping.
- Other general administration tasks as directed.

**What you will need to succeed**:

- A genuine interest in business administration and a commitment to completing your Traineeship.
- Excellent communication, literacy, and numeracy skills.
- Reliable, flexible, proactive and honest.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a small team.
- Basic computer skills, with experience in the Microsoft Suite.
- Strong attention to detail
- Be able to show initiative
- Must have access to reliable transport.
