**ABOUT THE ROLE**
This role works as part of a team of professionals providing high-calibre technical services to a range of clients across multiple fine art genres in an exciting new venue environment. As a Senior Venue
Technician, you will act in the role of supporting the technical team across a range of different disciplines including that of; lighting, audio-visual and staging services. This role works in having key experience across a range of theatrical and performing art production skills. You’ll be required on occasions to manage bump-in and bump-out periods, alongside supervision of small technical teams across both Pavilion and Sutherland Arts Theatre.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES;
- Facilitate audio, lighting and staging requirements for productions that come through the venues
- Lead small technical teams across both venues to ensure high level of technical services is provided to the client
- Carry out relevant WHS and site inductions for a range of clients and stakeholders
- Ensure infrastructure and venue assets are well maintained, repaired and replaced to achieve a safe working environment
- Interpret technical drawings and requirements for upcoming productions and achieve deliverables towards the client or stakeholders occupying the venues.
**ARE YOU THE ONE**
- Hold an Adv Dip/bachelor’s degree in Technical Production or equivalent comprehensive 3+ years’ experience within a theatrical profession specialising in either; lighting, audio-visual, staging and/or theatrical rigging
- Experienced in the supervision of technical teams across a range of different venues, working in high-pressured environments
- Knowledge of PPAC policies and procedures to meet working conditions and client needs.
- Physical fitness, agility, ability to work at heights, and good hearing and vision.
- Flexible availability across weekends and evening work as operational required
- Rigging, Working at Heights, and Test and Tag certification are preferable but not essential

- Experience with stakeholder and people management; customer service/interpersonal skills essential
- Have a good understanding of stakeholder production requirements and relating them to a theatrical environment
- Ensuring WHS policy and procedure is applied across a range of theatrical and performing art activities
- Key skills in Microsoft Word, and Excel and an understanding of AutoCAD/Vectorworks, interpreting theatrical drawings and rigging
- Experience in lighting and audio networking, including that of sACN, Artnet, Dante, AES50
- Operational experience with GrandMA3 Compact and/or ETC Eos Family Consoles
- Understanding of Soundcraft audio consoles and working knowledge of audio outboard systems.
- Understanding of basic AV technology including that of Blackmagic systems, Projectors and multi-output video devices
- Experience in operation of theatrical fly systems, including hand lines, chain hoists and winch operations.
**EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS**
**Job Status**: Sub Contract, through third-party employment agency as nominated by Pavilion, ABN holders also accepted.
