**INWARDS GOODS STOREPERSON - FULL-TIME POSITION**
Silvan Australia are a family-owned business and are recognised Australia wide as an industry leader in the import and manufacture of high end agricultural implements to the farming industry.

**1. Purpose of this Position**
To be responsible for the efficient receipt, storage and processing of incoming stock and materials.
This position ensures that all goods delivered to the warehouse are accurately checked, recorded and stored in the appropriate locations ready for dispatch or further processing.
The Store person will work closely with other warehouse staff and supervisors to maintain the flow of goods and ensure the timely and accurate handling of inventory.
**2. Key Responsibilities**
**Receiving and checking goods**:
- Unload incoming goods from trucks or delivery vehicles.
- Inspect deliveries to ensure that items are correct, undamaged, and meet quality standards.
- Verify goods against delivery notes, invoices, and purchase orders.
- Report any discrepancies or damaged goods to the relevant department or supplier.
**Stock handling and storage**:
- Sort and store goods in the designated locations within the warehouse.
- Organize products in a manner that ensures easy access and minimizes the risk of damage.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or other machinery to move stock efficiently.
- Ensure that storage areas are maintained in a safe and organized condition.
**Inventory Management**:
- Maintain accurate records of all inwards goods, including quantities, descriptions, and condition.
- Update SAP / Accellos inventory management systems with new stock arrivals.
- Assist with periodic stock counts and cycle counts as directed by the supervisor.
- Report low stock levels to management and assist with reordering stock as required.
**Health and Safety**:
- Comply with all health and safety regulations and warehouse procedures.
- Ensure safe handling and storage of goods to prevent injury or damage.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately to the supervisor.
**Collaboration and Communication**:
- Communicate effectively with other warehouse staff, supervisors, and departments to ensure smooth operation.
- Provide assistance to colleagues in other areas of the warehouse as needed.
- Assist with organizing goods for dispatch or other departments, if required.
**Housekeeping and Maintenance**:
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Ensure that goods are stored in compliance with relevant regulatory and safety guidelines.
- Perform general maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
**Skills and Personal attributes**
- Previous experience in a warehouse or stock handling environment is preferred, but not required.
- Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallets jacks, or similar machinery (licensing/certifications may be required).
- Basic computer skills for entering data into inventory management systems.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items as required.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Flexible and adaptable to changes in work conditions or requirements.
- Positive attitude with a focus on quality and safety.
- Team-oriented with a willingness to collaborate.
**Qualifications**:
- A valid Forklift license (if applicable).
- A current driver’s license (if applicable).
- Health & Safety training (desirable).
**Working Conditions**:
- Work is typically carried out in a warehouse environment.
- May require lifting and carrying heavy objects.
- Shifts may vary based on operational requirements, including weekends or evenings.
**3. Key Outcomes**
- Wherever possible, all goods are checked, receipted and released for use within specified KPI timeframes from time of delivery.
- International airfreight shipments (DHL bags etc) - 2 hours.
- Australia wide airfreight and post bags - 2 hours.
- Local deliveries - 3 hours.
- FCL container shipments -36 hours.
- Mixed container shipments - 48 hours.
- LCL shipments - 4 hours.
**4. Flexibility**
The company may from time to time direct the employee to perform other duties that are appropriate for the employee’s skill, competence and training.
Hours are **Monday to Friday** 7.00am to 3.06pm. Essential that you be available to work Overtime when required.
