Trinity College Queensland is the denominational college for the Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod. Inaugurated in 1977, the college has in various iterations continued to service the educational needs of the Synod, including its congregations, schools, and other community services by offering unaccredited and accredited study programs that seek to equip the church and feed its missional imagination. The College’s higher education programs have been accredited by the Australian College of Theology since 2020.
The purpose of this role is to assist the Faculty, Staff, and Students of Trinity College as well as Library members in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of library and information systems and services of Trinity Theological Library.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and maintain library strategies and policies supporting education for ministry at TCQ, with an emphasis on innovation.
- Manage the library resource budget effectively and prepare reports on library stock, library usage and library development needs.
- Respond to reference queries and provide research support and training in the use of information technology for TCQ students and library members.
- Ensure the effective and efficient use of library management systems to maintain catalogue records and monitor the use of library resources.
- Lead support services for students enrolled at Trinity College Queensland (TCQ), including provision of academic support in relation to library resources and facilities.
- Ensure that library resources (whether digital or hard copy) are available in a timely manner for each semester, in consultation with faculty.
- Model the values of the Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod in day-to-day work including in interactions with managers, lay staff, ministry agents, clients and stakeholders.
- Identify and develop strategies to provide internal and external client focused customer service, including identifying improvements to policy, process and the work environment.
- Undertake other duties as and when directed within the scope of the role and the capabilities of the incumbent.
**Qualifications**:
- Relevant post-graduate degree, or equivalent competency gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
**Experience and skills**:
- Demonstrate extensive experience in the provision of academic support to students in higher education.
- Demonstrated commitment to the development of ‘best practice’ strategies in all aspects of theological education.
- Pro-actively seeks to engage the College community with library services, resources and facilities.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver and continually improve processes and systems to achieve organisational goals.
- Demonstrated knowledge of library cataloguing and acquisitions services and procedures.
- Familiarity with and experience in theological collections is desirable.
Service:
- Personable with a commitment to building strong relationships with key stakeholders/customers across the Church and its agencies, boards and committees of the Synod.
- An ability to provide high levels of customer service for a Christian theological educational institute including participation in the College community such as interacting with students during class breaks.
- Responsibility: demonstrated attention to detail, timeliness, analytical and focussed on outcomes;

- Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing with others and manage competing views.
- Ability to infuse the Christian ethos into daily practice.
- Familiarity with theological contexts and content would be advantageous (but not essential)

- Commitment to working within the purpose and values of the Uniting Church in Australia, Queensland Synod and adhering to the policies, organisational requirements and processes.
**Additional requirements**:
- The successful applicant must be able to provide their COVID-19 digital certificate.
- A degree of flexibility of hours may be required to manage the demands of the students and the library throughout the academic year;
- The successful applicant must be eligible to legally work in Australia and proof of eligibility may be requested.
