The Role

KBR provides specialist services to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and among KBR’s many operations is the provision of language teachers to the ADF. The requirements of these positions change based on the capability requirements, language support needed, course development, relief and surge capability and post-course requalification testing.

KBR is seeking qualified and experienced language teachers, language course resource developers and language assessment developers for causal opportunities in the languages listed below:
TESOL

Portuguese

Javanese

Indonesian

Tok Pisin (PNG)

Solomon Islands Pidgin

Chinese

Thai

Urdu

Japanese

Vietnamese

Burmese

French

Bislama

Farsi

Malaysian

Fijian

East Timorese

Korean

**Responsibilities**:
Responsibilities vary according to each project but typical responsibilities include:
LOTE or TESOL teaching activities for adult learners

Student liaison and support

Conduct of language assessments

Development of language assessments

Recording and following up suggestions for improvement to curriculum documentation.

Specialised design and development of language courses curricula in LOTE and TESOL

Lesson preparation including preparation of training aids, familiarisation of lesson content and other activities required to maximise the delivery of the lesson.

produce materials within timeframes aligned with project schedules.

**Requirements**:
In order to meet the requirements of the role, you will possess:
Tertiary qualifications in language teaching

Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults or equivalent

Cert IV in Training and Assessment or demonstrate experience in teaching in any discipline

Be a values-focused individual, possess a growth mindset, value quality, innovation, teamwork, respect for others, be open and live the behaviours befitting the modern workplace at KBR.

Well-developed verbal and non-verbal communication skills

Experience working with/in government and/or Defence - desirable

The ability to provide a current police check
