**THE ROLE**
We are seeking male identifying, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mentors to work with young people for 3 hours per week (the hours are flexible and usually after school).
As a mentor your time will be spent mostly one on one with the young person, with some interactions required with their wider care networks.
You will provide guidance and support to the young person and will be a stable, safe, and reliable person for them to talk to. You will spend time with them in their local and wider community, enjoying social activities and supporting them to set and achieve goals.
**ABOUT YOU**
- You enjoy working with young people and have experience engaging them and their community of care in a positive way.
- You are comfortable and confident supporting complex behaviours and you have knowledge of trauma informed care.
- You deliver on your commitments and are able to complete a monthly report as part of your role.
- You are professional and approachable, understanding professional boundaries, and can work with a wide range of people.
- You have good Microsoft 365 skills and excellent communication skills.
**Clearances & Training Requirements**
The following clearances and training are required for mentoring:
- WWCC (Working With Children's Check)
- RAN-EC (Response to abuse and Neglect)
- Child Safe Environments (Through Their Eyes)
- First Aid
- SMART Training
- Drivers License
You will also be required to undergo a Criminal History Check.
