Mervic College is currently looking for an experienced RTO manger to join our team. As a private provider of vocational education and training, we pride ourselves with offering our students knowledge that will guide them into career pathways. In order to provide our services to domestic and international students we are required to maintain our Registered Training Organisation status with the Australian Skills Quality Authority. A RTO manager would oversee the operations of our organisation and ensure we operate under the Standards for Registered Training organisations, along with coordinating the educational programs for our students. Reporting to the Director, CEO and General managers, you will lead the business and ensure we comply with agencies such as:
- Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA)
- Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015
- Skills First Victorian Funding Contract
- Skills First Quality Charter
- Adult and Community and Further Education (Learn Local)
- Higher Education and Skills Group
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Day to Day business management of the RTO to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the business
- Drive business growth through the establishment of networks within industry, memberships with other education partners, and funding bodies
- Manage all aspects of the RTO’s compliance and performance within budget requirements
- Manage all aspects of the RTO’s compliance within the VET Quality Framework and ASQA Framework
- Develop, monitor, and evaluate policies and procedures to ensure compliance across the requirements of ASQA and other regulatory bodies
- Deal with students, public enquiries, members, and stakeholders as re1quired
- Lead and manage RTO processes including but not limited to:
- Marketing (with support from the Marketing Team)
- Course development
- Industry consultation
- Training and Assessment Strategy development
- Internal and external audits (ASQA, Skills First)
- Validation activities (pre and post assessment
- Continuous Improvement
- Student intervention strategies, cancellations, withdrawals, suspensions, complaints, and appeals
- Oversee the administrative functions of the RTO, including but not limited to:
- Development and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators for all direct staff
- Prospective student, industry and funning opportunities
- Student course eligibility and enrolment
- ASQA data collection and provision requirements such as AVETMISS and Quality Indicator reporting
- Student completion and eligibility for qualification issuance
2. Financial Operating Performance
- Lead the growth and development of all training activity across Victoria to achieve Budget
- Prepare an annual RTO budget and business plan which articulates associated performance targets with assistance from the General Manager Governance and Training Services and Finance Department
- Ensure effective business development, financial viability, and growth of the RTO across Victoria
- Partner with Client Engagement Team to source and develop professional tender and grant submissions to increase training offerings
- Provide monthly program reports outlining financial and program performance as required to General Manager Governance and Training Services
3. Strategic Planning and Business Development
- identify opportunities to create new business (accredited, non-accredited and consultancy) with both internal and external clients
- Develop strategies which leverage and promote the organisations unique point of difference as a provider of Early Years Services
- Build and maintain positive ongoing relationships with all internal and external customers
- Develop relationships with industry which promotes opportunities for students to undertake practical placement and employment outcomes
- Partner with Marketing to identify and market new training opportunities ensuring a coordinated approach
- Improve and maintain a positive image for the RTO ensuring that products, services, and program are supported by quality up-to date teaching and learning resources and e-learning programs
- Monitor the marketplace to understand community and industry training needs and develop timely and responsive training solutions
4. Staff Management and Development
- Support the Lead Assessor with management of trainers and assessors, including recruitment, workload, performance, vocational competence, currency and professional development
- Working on-the-business, identify improved work practices and opportunities for innovation and new business, within a compliance framework
- Promote and communicate a clear vision for the training team
- Partner with the Human Resources team with staff recruitment and retention, induction, approving and overseeing staff timesheets and leave
- Acknowledge good performance and manage poor performance with the provision of regular feedback
