**Department Description and Role Purpose**
The Corporate Actions team Analyst sits within the Banking Services Operations Division of BNP Paribas Securities Services (BP2S). They are responsible for the correct processing of AU/NZ Fixed Income and Equity corporate actions, including income, dividend reinvestment plans, corporate events, research and proxy voting.
The role of the Corporate Actions team is to research all Australian and New Zealand equity and fixed income Corporate Actions complex events, process and reconcile all client instructions to market, oversee cash and security breaks, respond to any corporate event related queries and contribute to any Corporate Action related projects.
They are a motivated and results focused team, as theirs is a high risk, time critical function. They communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders (including Account Managers, Brokers, ASX and BNP Paribas clients) as part of their process management.
**Responsibilities**:
The Corporate Actions Analyst performs an important role in the Corporate Actions team as they are responsible for processing and reviewing the team’s BAU, query and reconciliation management.
Their tasks may include but are not limited to;
- AU/NZ equity and fixed income corporate action research;
- Corporate actions election processing,
- Corporate action entitlement reconciliation,
- Investigation of reconciliation exceptions,
- Query management,
- Corporate action process improvements and process design and
- Involvement in Corporate Action related projects such as Chess Replacement and introduction of ISO20022 messages in the Corporate Action announcement process.
The analyst has the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, both internally such as Account Managers, Relationship Managers, Product and other BP2S teams and market facing such as Registries, Depositories and Issuers.

**Technical and Behavioural Competencies Required**:
- Technical/professional knowledge - Demonstrates a superior level of technical and professional skills/knowledge. Minimum three years’ experience in the Australian/NZ Market for Local Custody Corporate Actions. Demonstrates expert knowledge of various Corporate Actions and all aspects of a corporate action life cycle. Keeps abreast of current developments and trends in area of expertise.

**Qualifications**:
- Degree qualified in Business, Accounting or related discipline or relevant work experience in a similar role
- Securities Institute Qualifications (beneficial but not essential)
