About the role
Provide clinical specialist paediatric support to the Youth Detention Health Service, making a substantial contribution to the development of a culture of medical education and safe, effective, patient centred clinical practice with a youth detention environment.

About you
- Commitment to the principles of quality in health care including contributing to initiatives relating to quality improvement, research, risk management, and the improvement of patient and service outcomes.
- Extensive clinical experience with appropriate knowledge and skills in providing specialist clinical support in the area of AYA medicine in a patient and family-centred approach within a Youth Detention Environment.
- Communicate in a way that is appropriate for the situation, and that promotes trust, respect and integrity with patients and colleagues.
- Commitment to leading the performance, development and education program of clinicians at an undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- Models ethical behaviour and consistently applied those ethical standards to self and others.
- Ensures all people, patients and colleagues are treated with dignity and respect in all healthcare settings.
**Mandatory Requirements**:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia plus Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent acceptable to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and registrable as a specialist Adolescent Physician, Paediatric Specialist or General Physician with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
