**Job Description**:
The 2GB Panel Operator, reporting to the 2GB Audio Production Manager, is responsible for overseeing the operation of the Broadcast Studio during Live Broadcasts and/or pre-recorded content. The 2GB Panel Operator is also responsible for ensuring that all material is broadcast when scheduled and that the audio quality is of the highest level at all times.
Day to day you will:
- Keeping announcers and producers informed of the show's progress;
- Keeping the show on time, and timing out to news and other programming elements;
- Playing music, pre-recorded interviews, commercials and other programming elements at appropriate times;
- Operating the on-air telephone system and station playout system;
- Coordinating and inserting elements such as traffic reports, sporting updates and live reads;
- Ensuring that all audio levels and audio quality are acceptable;
- Recording and editing audio before, during, and after live broadcasts as required;
- Ensuring that the studio equipment and environment is kept clean, and that any faults are reported to Technical staff;
- Ensuring that all commercial material is played as logged, and that any material not Broadcast is reported to the Traffic Department;
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
**Qualifications**:
- Knowledge of on-air techniques/procedures, protocols, and standards.
- Experience with the Zetta playout system.
- Experience with PhoneBox.
- Experience with Newsboss, Adobe Audition, and/or other Audio Editing software.
- Understanding of digital audio broadcast mixers and equipment.
- A solid understanding of the Commercial Radio Codes of Practice.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Reliable, hardworking and can work well under pressure.
- Ability to work a variety of hours, 7 days a week.
