**About the Opportunity**

An opportunity has become available for a Laboratory based Clinical Microbiologist is available at the central Clinpath laboratory on a full time or part time basis. Regular shifts will be rostered in Microbiology, Serology and Molecular laboratory. With state of the art automated instruments will be available to provide you with a stimulating work environment.

Dedicated technical and scientific staff as well as support staff create an exceptional work environment at Clinpath. Our pathologists as well as scientists share engaging and lasting professional relationships with clinicians. The Sonic laboratory network nationally convene within each discipline to ensure that our processes are up to date, streamlined and best practice, as well as to provide all pathologists with Continuing Medical Education. In addition a generous CME allowance is included to facilitate continued professional development.

The successful applicant will have comprehensive experience and training in Laboratory Microbiology including Bacteriology, Parasitology, Mycology, Serology, Virology and Molecular Biology.

Other responsibilities will include review of quality control, quality assurance programme, participation in relevant educational and research activities, and advice on Infection control and antibiotic stewardship in hospital settings and in house WHS issues. Participation in the afterhours on call roster is required.

The successful applicant will be a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (Microbiology) and hold Specialist Registration with AHPRA.
