The First Nations Investment and Commissioning team tailors support to the needs of the region or area of commissioning (eg, a program type or place-based initiative) and assists with the development and implementation of Regional Investment Plans that consider:
- How data informs investment decisions to ensure current and future service delivery meets the needs of children, young people and families
- The current service mix and scope and future growth opportunities relating to predicted demand, population growth and investment impact
- Place-based opportunities to design service systems and commission services differently
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of supporting communities including culturally considered procurement and contract management processes. Alternate ways to procure and contract manage that reflect contemporary ways of delivering services. Working in partnership to achieve positive outcomes through investment for all children, young people and families.
**The Principal Program Officer's key responsibilities are**:
- Develop, manage and implement projects and programs that support the effective delivery of services relevant to the business unit. Provide high level program management advice and direction in relation to human service initiatives. Identify information from a wide range of sources and provide strategic analysis and advice on complex operation program, policy and legislative issues relating to the programs and initiatives delivered by the business unit. Coordinate day-to-day operations to deliver on project outcomes that support the department's capacity to deliver and maintain quality services. Provide high level liaison, consultation and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders towards the development and implementation of whole-of-government policy and program initiatives relating to the programs and initiatives delivered by the business unit. Ensure that service delivery arrangements support the department's program and strategic intent. Prepare a range of written materials including cabinet submissions, procurement documentation, executive correspondence, briefing material, speech notes and information papers concerned with the programs and initiatives delivered by the business unit
- a statement not more than two pages, that summarises your skills, experience and achievements against the leadership competencies/capabilities and duties/responsibilities
- a current resume containing details of 2 referees. At least one referee should have a thorough knowledge of your work over the past two years as your manager or supervisor.
