Childcare Second in Charge

**About Us**:
Loving Start is a brand-new childcare centre in Healesville, VIC, dedicated to providing a warm, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment for young children. We are looking for a passionate and experienced **2IC (Second-in-Charge)** to support our Centre Manager in leading our team and ensuring excellence in early childhood education.

**About the Role**:
As the **2IC**, you will play a key leadership role in supporting the daily operations of the centre. You will work closely with the **Centre Manager**, assist in team management, and ensure compliance with all regulations and quality standards. This is a great opportunity for an experienced early childhood professional to step into a leadership position.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support the **Centre Manager** in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the centre.
- Step into the **Centre Manager role** when required.
- Mentor and support educators to deliver high-quality early childhood education and care.
- Ensure compliance with the **National Quality Framework (NQF), Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and all relevant regulations**.
- Assist with **recruitment, training, and onboarding** of new staff.
- Build strong relationships with **families, staff, and the local community**.
- Help manage **enrolments, rosters, and daily operations**.
- Maintain high standards of **safety, hygiene, and child wellbeing**.
- Use **childcare management software** such as **Xplor, Storypark, or Educa** to support centre operations.
- Support continuous **improvement and quality** in programs and practices.

**About You**:

- **Diploma or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent)**.
- **At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role within a childcare setting (2IC, Educational Leader, or Room Leader preferred)**.
- Strong knowledge of **childcare regulations, compliance, and best practices**.
- Experience using **childcare management software** (Xplor, Storypark, or Educa).
- Excellent **leadership, teamwork, and communication skills**.
- Passionate about **early childhood education and supporting team development**.
