**Position Information**:
Woonona East Public School has 195 students and is located in Woonona, which is on Wadi Wadi country, on Dharawal land.
Woonona is a coastal suburb, North of Wollongong. The school has eight classes, ranging from Kindergarten to Year 6. Woonona East Public School has 13 teaching staff and 10 School Learning and Support Officers (SLSOs). The school has strong ties with its parents, carers and community and hosts a number of regular whole school community events. Our school has 33 Aboriginal students, and 10 students who speak English as an additional language or dialect. Our school works closely with the Northern Illawarra Aboriginal Education Consultative Group to ensure the quality of Aboriginal Education is of the highest standard. There is a comprehensive Learning and Support Team that monitor the progress and achievement of all students, closely tracking intervention and enrichment programs.
**Selection Criteria**:
- Approval to teach infants and/or primary with demonstrated ability to initiate, lead and build teacher capacity in the implementation of high quality, differentiated literacy and numeracy programs, underpinned by evidence-based research.
- Highly collaborative leader, with proven ability to work cohesively as a member of the leadership team, fostering high levels of relational trust with all members of the school community.
- Effective communication and collaboration with parents, fostering a safe, rewarding, enjoyable and enriching school environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead whole school wellbeing practices underpinned by current Department policies and procedures.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
