We are currently seeking a **Grounds and Estate Maintenance Person** to support our Defence Base Services contract at **Anglesea Barracks**, Tasmania.

The Anglesea Barracks Grounds and Estate Maintenance Person will be expected to conduct aesthetic and environmental land management activities including grounds and garden maintenance, weed management, minor reactive infrastructure and planned maintenance. Day to day Services will be mostly conducted at Anglesea Barracks with occasional requirements to provide capacity at other Defence sites across the state. Work is to be delivered in accordance with current service contracts and in alignment with company safety standards and principals.

**In addition, you will**:

- Undertake horticultural and Land management activities for the purpose of aesthetics and safety including:

- Ride on mowing;_
- _Tractor slashing;_
- _Chainsaw operation;_
- _Small Powered Plant Operation including but not limited to brush cutting, leaf blowing; edging, hedge trimming, pressure water cleaning_
- Perform minor reactive and planned maintenance activities including inspections on defence infrastructure.
- Co-ordinate the escorting of visitors and contractors (where required).
- Liaise with designated authorities in relation to environmental and safety issues under the guidance of Defence.
- Provide service reports and audits in accordance with the regimes.

**About you**:

- Qualifications in horticulture or relevant years of experience.
- Chemical Application Certificate or ability to obtain.
- Experience in environmental grounds maintenance.
- Experience in the use of grounds maintenance machinery such as: ride on mowers, tractors, brush cutters, chainsaw etc.
- Experience in basic construction or building maintenance.
- Trade or trade assistant desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Sound problem solving, organising and time management skills.

You must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to maintain a Defence clearance in order to be eligible for these positions, as well as be able to pass an Australian Federal Police Check and Medical Pre-Employment Checks as required by the contract.
