East Port Veterinary Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and well-rounded full-time veterinarian to join our small animal practice in Port Macquarie on the beautiful NSW mid-north coast. Both new graduates and experienced veterinarians are welcome to apply. A part-time position may also be considered for the right applicant.

Port Macquarie is a beautiful, laid back, coastal area bursting with restaurants, multiple beaches lined with pockets of rainforests, and fun attractions. The amazing Coastal Walk from town to the Tacking Point Lighthouse, Billabong Zoo, Koala Hospital, Stoney Aqua Park, Ricardoes Tomatoes and many local wineries will keep you and your visitors entertained. The lush hinterland surrounds are perfect for camping, bushwalking or visiting one of the many nearby waterfalls. For families, there are plenty of great schools catering for all ages, and lots of family orientated activities to enjoy in your down time.

Who we are:

- We are a busy, four vet companion animal practice, with some opportunity for exotic pet and wildlife medicine cases.
- Our team of experienced vets have a range of special interests, including cardiology, surgery, reproduction and palliative care. We are a knowledgeable team that enjoys sharing new ideas and working up cases.
- Our skilled support staff team includes seven veterinary nurses, one veterinary technician, a full-time practice manager, veterinary receptionist, groomer and hospital attendant.
- We have a purpose-built hospital equipped with ultrasound, endoscope, bronchoscope, tonovet, in-house IDEXX Catalyst and Procyte machines, digital radiography including dental x-ray, two iM3 dental machines and dental periotome.
- We have a large client base with many of our clientele being happy to work up a range of surgical, medical and wellness cases, to a gold standard of care. A significant number of this clientele have chosen East Port Veterinary Hospital as their veterinarian of choice for over ten years. We provide our clients with the highest level of service, and establishing good rapport, and lasting relationships is essential to maintaining this bond.
- We strongly encourage all of our veterinarians and veterinary nurses to undertake regular continuing education and pursue any area of expertise that interests them.
- We value a peaceful, friendly, fun and approachable working environment, while also encouraging accountability and personal leadership within the team.

What we can offer you as a full-time vet:

- Four day working week with a set rostered day off.
- Four weeks annual leave and one weeks study leave.
- Our hospital is open Monday to Friday 8:00am - 6:00pm and Saturday 9am - 12noon.
- On call duties on a one in four with the support of VetChat to reduce non urgent callouts. Note - this is currently being re-assessed with the potential to decrease frequency.
- Opportunity to develop your own areas of interest with support available when needed.
- Clinical freedom and autonomy when managing your own cases.
- As for most regional towns in NSW, the rental market can be difficult to enter in Port Macquarie, so we are now offering free temporary accommodation for up to six months.
- Salary package offered is above award and negotiable with experience.
- Relocation allowance and VISA sponsorship is also available if required.
