Environmental Field Technician

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Reporting to the Environmental Specialist, the successful applicant will be the first line respondent providing support for all our environmental compliance requirements. This role is working a great Lifestyle roster in a Permanent Fulltime capacity based at our Kilcoy plant.
- Monitor compliance to Environmental Management System requirements.
- Prepare and maintain necessary reports and records.
- Monitor wastewater quality - collecting samples, performing laboratory/field tests, recording results, and investigating parameter variations and inconsistencies.
- Maintain water testing instrumentation.
- Monitor pond and dam levels - maintaining efficient movement of wastewater around the site, for irrigation, livestock, and recycling.
- Assist farm operatives in coordination and implementation of irrigation management strategy.
- Monitor levels of solid waste in waste streams - facilitating on zero waste to landfill.
- Monitor and report air/odour emissions.
- Supports the Cogeneration Operator with routine and preventative maintenance, inspections, and checking of operational parameters across the cogeneration or power systems, and anaerobic digestors.
- Identify energy and other utilities efficiency opportunities.
- Supports farm operatives as required with core farm duties.
- Hay management support - stocktake, sales and testing
- Operate light and heavy equipment, including but not limited to, pumps, irrigators, trailers
- Support farm testing - soil, groundwater, hay.

**RENUMERATION**

This is a salaried position of $80,000 per annum.

**ROSTER**

7 day roster, working 12 hour day shifts. 5 days on, 4 days off. Then 4 days on 5 days off.

**ABOUT YOU**
- 3+ years previous field experience collecting and testing water samples, writing reports or Degree qualifications in Environmental Management, Agriculture, or Sustainability or related field.
- Previous experience with Biogas Cogeneration Production, and with anaerobic digestion.
- Intermediate computer skills, with Microsoft Office
- Ability to identify issues and respond promptly with practical solutions
- Valid driver’s licence, LR Truck licence an advantage.
- Forklift licence desirable
- Farming experience (desirable), including experience with tractors
- Basic maintenance/trade skills/fault finding
