The Waste Education Officer is a permanent full-time position, in this role you will be reporting to the Waste Management Supervisor. This position is responsible for providing customer support and educational services to residents about Council’s Waste Policy and Procedure, Regional Waste Policy and Procedure and commercial and business premises within the City of Parramatta Council’s local government area.

On a daily basis you will:

- Liaise with operational staff and contractors on waste procedure and performance and corrective actions.
- Develop plans for the education of the community in relation to waste reduction and effectively implement programs adopted by Council.
- Prepare written reports to Waste and Cleansing Manager on waste reduction education, information issues, programs, and outcomes.

**About You**

The successful applicant must have a sound knowledge of waste management and community behaviour change.

**Qualifications**:

- Relevant degree qualifications in waste management or environmental science or equivalent qualification from an advanced tertiary institution together with a thorough knowledge and 2-3 years appropriate industry experience

**Experience**:

- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Current drivers' licence

**Desirable**:

- Experience in education and marketing field
- Understanding of the Local Government Act as well as other legislation
- Ability to undertake compliance audits.

**What’s on offer**:
We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $90,298.17 to $99,439.03 plus 11% Superannuation.
