Our client, HumanAbility, is Australia’s Jobs and Skills Council for Health, Human Services, Early Education, Sport and Recreation Sectors. This newly formed Jobs and Skills Council will assume a leadership role in providing industry with a stronger, more strategic voice supporting these sectors to have a future workforce with the skills and training they need.
The growing team are seeking a Research Officer to support the organisation, and be at the forefront of their mission to enhance vocational education training systems.
The research Officer will conduct research, analyse data, and provide insights to support informed decision-making and program development. You will be someone with a high level of problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to produce accurate, easy to read and insightful reports and advice.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to research, reporting, literature review and stakeholder engagement.
- Design and conduct research and analysis to inform the development of HumanAbility’s workforce plan, workforce development initiatives and annual training development plan.
- Prepare research reports, summaries, and presentations for internal and external audiences that show attention to detail and the ability to write in plain English.
- Communicate research findings effectively to support decision-making.
- Conduct literature reviews to stay informed about industry trends and best practices.
- Incorporate relevant research findings into project planning and development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to gather insights and share research outcomes.
- Foster relationships with industry experts, educators, and policymakers.
**Skills and Experience**
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Labour Market Economics or Education
- Proven experience in VET, public policy and/or research roles.
- Proficiency in research methodologies and statistical analysis tools.
- Experience in using customer journey mapping, design thinking and other behavioural insights or human centred design an advantage.
- Demonstrated understanding and/ or experience in at least one of: the national skills system, the health, human services, sport & recreation or early childhood education industry sectors.
The role is flexibly located anywhere within Australia. It will involve travel for stakeholder meetings, workshops, and industry events. You will be required to under take a criminal history check as part of the pre-employment process before commencing.
