**Position Information**:
Tanilba Bay is a community-focused school (enrolment 400) servicing the Tilligerry Peninsula. The school has a high proportion of Aboriginal students and delivers strong cultural learning programs. Our school is committed to enabling Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL). We are currently working with our Team Around a School, a multi-disciplinary team of behaviour support officers, to design and deliver enhanced systems, processes and practices that will enable improved student behaviour - including positive engagement with the Zones of Regulation model.

Team Tanilba is looking for an educational leader of integrity and compassion to lead and manage Stage 3 in our school. Our Stage 3 Assistant Principal will guide and mentor teachers on the stage to delivery high-quality, data-informed and differentiated programs that support the learning and wellbeing of students. Our Stage 3 Assistant Principal will lead our Student Parliament, design and lead implementation of student leadership programs and activities and work with other members of the Executive Team to lead and manage consultative processes, engage in strategic planning and enable school improvement.

Our Stage 3 Assistant Principal will join a leadership team marked by a high level of psychological safety and mutual trust, engaging with colleagues to advance the strategic directions of the school: Success, Belonging and Trust.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary and record of strong pedagogical practice in the middle years of school.

Demonstrated success in leading/supporting the implementation of effective classroom management strategies, drawing on the principles of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) and trauma-informed practice.

Collaborate with other members of the Executive Team to design, deliver and evaluate programs that will enhance the social and emotional learning of students in the upper years of primary school.

Ability to grow student leadership capabilities through the design and implementation of student leadership programs and/or activities.

Capacity to lead staff in forming positive partnerships and connections with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander stakeholders, drive improvement and lead initiatives that deepen all students’ knowledge of Aboriginal Histories and cultures.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
