**Finance Officer (APS5)**

**About the role**

Our Commonwealth government client is seeking to engage a **Finance Officer** at the APS5 level. They are responsible for assuring that Australian Government entities and prescribed private sector organisations act with integrity and treat people fairly. The role includes management and oversight of operational activities of the property function, internal budgets, management reporting and finance function.

**_Please note: only Australian citizens with the ability to obtain/maintain a Baseline clearance can be considered for these roles._**

**Duties**:

- Providing advice and support to line areas on finance, security, fraud & integrity matters, including coordinating certificate of compliance and conflicts of interests
- Drafting briefs and reports, related to finance, security, integrity, and fraud, to senior management and governance committees
- Assisting the ASA with implementation of initiatives that supports the Office to strengthen its finance, security, fraud & integrity control capabilities and comply with control obligations
- Assistance in external budget management, including preparation of adjustments in the central finance system (CBMS) and associated supporting documentation
- Managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit card and travel processes and systems ensuring functions are managed in accordance with finance policies and procedures
- Maintaining financial management information system (FMIS) records for financial management and the internal budget, including reviewing budget documents to other sources of information (e.g. FMIS and HR systems) to ensure accuracy and completeness of staffing and supplier costing data
- Contributing to the identification and implementation of continuous business process improvements within the Finance, Property and Security Team to ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures
- Managing assigned tasks for month-end management reporting and year-end financial statements
- Attendance to onsite for property and security matters, e.g. escorting contractors and issuing passes
