**About the role**
**- **As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, in collaboration with students, parents, teachers, leaders and allied health professionals, you will support students across the full range of abilities and needs, to meet specific learning needs. In particular you will:
- Design and implement inclusive and effective teaching and learning strategies to engage and improve education outcomes of supported students
- Collaborate with your peers to develop and implement quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy
- Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
- Work with the school leadership team and colleagues to contribute to the professional life of the school
- Proactively engage with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes aligned to The Alice Springs (Mparntwe) goals for young Australians
- Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.
**About you** - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience as well as:
- Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus experience using the Australian Curriculum in a flexible manner to meet the needs of a diverse student population
- Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standardsfor Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.
- Proven ability to oversee and deliver a range of processes, including enrolment transitions, and mapping and planning functions to support inclusive education practices
- Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
- Commitment to child safety.
At BCE our teachers are required to:
- Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
- Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

St Pius V, Banyo, is a faith filled community where we Live, Love and Learn together to create a better future for all. Our school is a co-educational Prep to Year 6 primary school established in the tradition of St Mary of the Cross Mackillop, with a current enrolment of 500 students. Situated 14kms north east of the CBD and 10 minutes drive from the airport, our students learn through active engagement, collaboration and creativity. Our learning environment is state of the art with modern, contemporary classrooms conducive to learning and our facilities include a pool, multi-purpose hall, basketball / netball court and oval set in spacious gardened surrounds.

**_Do I have to be Catholic?_**
All BCE teachers must have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education. If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.
Our teachers of Religious Education are required to be Catholic and attain Accreditation to teach Religion in a Catholic school. Not accredited to teach in a Catholic school yet? That’s okay, BCE will support you to achieve this through your professional development after you start with us.
