The Smelly Cheese Shop is an iconic specialty cheese retail store in the Adelaide Central Market. A rare opportunity exists for a dynamic and passionate cheese & wine enthusiasts who can bring experience to our team - both in Retail and Events Management.

Based in the Adelaide Central Market, the Smelly Cheese Shop Events & Operations Manager will be required to lead, coach and direct the day-to-day sales activities of the team - ensuring that sales growth targets are met. They will be responsible for ensuring that customer partnerships are established and maintained and be ambassadors for this iconic SA brand.

They will be responsible for successfully managing events - locally, nationally & internationally. The ability to drive corporate accounts is essential to the success of the role.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Achieve sales activities and targets, business objectives and wage targets are met
- Support and develop teams in the day-to-day operation
- Enhance team competency through increasing product knowledge; business acumen and sales skills
- Recruitment and people management
- Work with the Marketing team to optimise all sales opportunities and implementation of promotional activities
- Maintain the store’s visual appeal
- Manage the activity of the online store and ensure sales growth targets are met
- Introduce & maintain a dynamic wine selection - ensuring profitability targets and legal requirements are met
- Grow & drive corporate accounts - through gifting & experiences
- Manage the events calendar - increasing the Smelly Cheese Co footprint internationally. Creating, costing & profitably managing all events on the annual calendar. Meeting growth targets.

**Key Requirements**
- Previous sales management experience essential - in events, food &/or beverage
- Previous experience with wine list management is essential
- Ability to analyse sales performance to identify insight and opportunity
- Ability to manage corporate accounts - driving sales through experiences and corporate gifting
- Ability to manage stock levels, always ensuring quality targets are met
- Excellent communicator who can successfully negotiate with and influence key stakeholders
- Proven experience in event management - both is sales & profitable execution and management
- Ability to fluently communicate in French is a requirement for the role
- Experience in leading/mentoring teams operationally and in a sales capacity
- Energetic, positive and motivated disposition
- Ability to travel as required
- RSA Certificate
- Bachelor's Degree in International Hospitality Management is preferable
- Work successfully as part of the company management team

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
