**Deliver the RAS' safety, risk & compliance governance & risk management framework for Sydney Showground Events and the Royal Easter Show**

**About the Role**

This job is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced **Risk Manager** to step up into an operational role at a large multi-function venue. As an experienced safety leader, you will put your own stamp on operations and contribute significantly to the ongoing success of the RAS and events staged at Sydney Showground.

Reporting to the General Counsel, you will have the responsibility enterprise risk management, policy updates & development, risk and hazard identification and training & preparation. As **Risk Manager**, you will be required to be onsite during peak operational periods to assist all event partners achieve outstanding levels of workplace health & safety. Being in the event and venue industry means that weekend and evening work is part of the deal, but it also means you will get to enjoy the diversity of our business and have fun at the same time.

**About you**

**You will be responsible to**:

- Manage, evaluate & monitor safety, risk & compliance governance
- Develop and implement policy and procedures on risk management, emergency management, and workplace health and safety issues with regard to legislative requirements.
- Conduct regular safety and compliance hazard identification, risk assessments and prepare appropriate controls and recommendations to minimise safety and risk exposure.
- Develop and implement systems to improve emergency management and workplace health and safety procedures, training, and incident/accident prevention, reporting and investigation programs.
- Investigate the causes of incidents and assist department managers with recommendations for corrective action
- Keep detailed, reliable and relevant records of safety operations, staff training and incidents in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Monitor, review and report on safety and risk management performance and practice
- Assist with the preparation and coordination of special Event Emergency Management plans
- Prepare & manage annual safety budgets

**You will have**:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Risk, Safety or Corporate Governance
- Certificate in Auditing ISO31000
- Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
- Experience conducting training and auditing
- Knowledge and experience operating services and plant associated with the operation of venues
- Knowledge and experience with the WHS Act (NSW) 2011 and WHS Regulations (NSW) 2011 and any relevant Codes of Practice and Australian Standards
- A commitment to service excellence and attention to detail
- Appreciation and understanding of a diverse range of client needs
- Well-developed negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Diplomacy, integrity and a positive will do attitude
- Strong ability to be proactive, show initiative, anticipate and solve problems
- Strong literacy, numeracy & communications skills
- A strong customer focus & team player willing to go the extra mile
- Demonstrated organisation skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Senior First Aid
- Fire Safety Cerfificate
- Motor vehicle license
