Drainer

**Minimum Requirements**

**PURPOSE**

Install, maintain and repair pipes and drains for water supply, drainage and sewerage systems. Installation of below ground drainage; sewer, water mains, stormwater and utilities.

**QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS**
- Experience in installing stormwater, sewerage, water and underground services
- Experience in excavation of trenches to facilitate the installations
- Team player
- Commitment to safe work practices
- Ability to pass full pre-employment medical
- Driver licence
- Excellent communications skills
- Ability to read and interpret drawing and specifications

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Installing under-ground drainage systems and connecting ground support systems
- Install stormwater and sub-soil drainage systems
- Plan layout of drainage system
- Install trench support
- Read & Interpret drawings and specifications.
- Work in conjunction with others including Main Contractors & their Subcontractors
- Set out Pits & other Structures to surveyor’s marks/Drawings.
- Set up laser & assist/spot excavator for trench excavation.
- Set up of Pipe Laser/Dumpy level/Rotating Laser.
- Calculate Heights from Surveyors marks/Drawings/Reduced Levels.
- Install Pits & Other Structures to surveyor’s marks within given tolerances.
- Prepare Pipe bedding to levels (Compacted sand/metal/Concrete Blocks/Concrete).
- Install Concrete/FRC/PVC/HDPE pipes without defects (gaps/rubber rings/debris in pipe/cracks)
- Install Pipes on grade.
- Cut Concrete/FRC/PVC/HDPE pipes safely using demo saw/hand tools, Pipe Cutting Cradle.
- Work safely in close proximity to excavators & earthmoving equipment spotting if necessary.
- Train others in pipe-laying & provide supervision where necessary.
- Measuring, cutting and joining pipes.
- Testing installed drainage systems.
- Order materials as required
- Adhere to OH&S

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $45.94 - $47.44 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
