You’ll be able to work close to home in a dynamic setting featuring cafes and retail options set amongst heritage buildings and open green spaces. **The Opportunity** Melton City Council is seeking Early Years Casual Qualified Vacation Care Educator who can work as a person in charge, to support the day-to-day running of the program, to plan, develop and deliver a high-quality Vacation Care Program catering to the needs of primary school aged children in the City of Melton in accordance with relevant legislation, guidelines and policies of the Local, State and Commonwealth governments. **Key Responsibilities** - Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Learning Frameworks (National & State), and My Time Our Place (Framework for School Aged Children). - Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the provision of developmentally appropriate programs for children aged 5-12 years. - Demonstrated experience in working with vulnerable families and children in the community in relation to the care of children aged 5-12 years. - Knowledge and understanding of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and National Quality Standards and how they impact on service delivery. - Demonstrated skills in problem solving, conflict management, record keeping, and working positively within a team. **About you** **_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_** - Applicants must hold a TAFE certificate course or equivalent or be enrolled to study either a relevant tertiary qualification Diploma level or higher in Out of School Hours Services, Recreation, Youth, Teaching, Disability or related discipline. - Preferably demonstrated knowledge and experience in the provision of developmentally appropriate programs for children aged 5-12 years. - Have good knowledge and understanding of Education and Care Services National Regulations 2012, My Time Our Place - Framework for School Aged Children and The Early Years Learning and Developmental Frameworks. - Have a current Working with Children Check or VIT registration. - Hold current Level 2 First Aid Certificate and current Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). - Hold current Emergency Asthmas Management training, Anaphylaxis Management and Adrenaline auto-injection device training. - Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence. **Culture and Values** Our vision for our community is to be: "A vibrant, safe and liveable city accessible to all" and that means there’s a place here for you too.
