**About the company**:
A local government authority based in the northeastern suburbs are looking for a return to work and injury management business partner to join their People and Culture team. You will be reporting directly into the Coordinator of Health, Safety and Wellbeing.

The Return to Work & Injury Management Business Partner is integral to supporting Council’s approach to injury management, developing, and promoting injury management strategies that are focused on early injury recovery, and suitable return to work in consultation with employees and leaders.

This is ideally a full-time role, working Monday - Friday, however part-time hours will be considered for the right person. The contract is initially for 3 months, however it could lead to longer-term opportunities. The council operate a hybrid working style, on average 2 days per week in the office.

**Your key responsibilities include**:

- Ensure all WorkCover and Return to Work data is collated and maintained within a Council database.
- Provide regular reports to management on all WorkCover and Return to Work cases, insurance premium statistics and injury management initiatives.
- Investigate, research, and analyse return to work and workplace injury information to support organisational reporting.
- Utilise data and analytics in the provision of recommended actions which assist Council in the reduction of workplace injuries and the management of insurance premiums.
- Evaluate external and third-party information including statistics and medical/training information for benchmarking and analysis of best practice.
- Effectively manage WorkCover claims including the coordination of return-to-work programs and the provision of practical, accurate and contemporary advice and support to employees and leaders in relation to all workplace accident/injury compensation matters.
- Administer Council’s workers compensation, injury management, and rehabilitation arrangements including consultation with leaders and the Coordinator Health, Safety and Wellbeing.

**You will have the following**:

- Degree / Diploma or Tertiary qualifications with some relevant work experience; or lesser formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience.
- Thorough working knowledge of OHS and Accident Compensation Legislation, Industry Best Practice and the Australian Standard for Risk Management.
- Strong generalist Occupational Health and Safety and Workers Compensation experience.
- Suitably qualified in relation to Injury Management and Return to Work.
- Sound understanding in Workers Compensation Premium Management.
- Demonstrated ability to implement Premium reduction strategies.
