**Location Profile**:
- North Melbourne Primary School is one of the few schools close to the CBD. The original school was established in 1874. In 2023, to cater for significant enrolment growth, a new vertical campus for North Melbourne Primary School opened expanding the school across two sites. The Molesworth Street campus caters for Prep to Year 2 students (Junior campus), while the existing Errol Street campus caters for our Year 3 to Year 6 students (Senior campus). The two campuses work collaboratively, with students having the opportunity to visit each site for enhanced learning opportunities. The student community of 850+ students reflects the cultural diversity of the surrounding neighbourhood, including North and West Melbourne, Parkville, and the CBD. There are approximately 50 different nationalities represented across the school community.
- The school has a dynamic leadership team consisting of a Principal, four Assistant Principals, Wellbeing, Literacy and Numeracy Learning Specialists, a Mental Health and Wellbeing Leading Teacher, and an OH&S and Technology Leading Teacher. This model provides stability and structure across both campuses.
- The school is divided into eight Professional Learning Teams, seven of them teaching from Prep to Year 6; each team working collaboratively to provide a curriculum that is based on a solid foundation of literacy and numeracy. The Specialist Team delivers comprehensive specialist programs in Visual and Performing Arts (Music and Drama), Physical Education, Auslan (LOTE) and Science.
- All students engage in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program which provides students with experiences in planting, harvesting and cooking healthy meals with much of the produce coming from our vegetable garden.

**Role**:
- The assistant principal reports directly to the principal.
- Assistant principals have a primary responsibility for the management of significant areas or functions within the school to ensure the effective development, provision and evaluation of the school's education program. In exercising the responsibility, assistant principals will have the authority to make all significant decisions relating to the program, budget and staff relating to their area of designated responsibility within the framework of the school's strategic plan, policies and budget.
